Young people behind the wheel can make anyone nervous. While many new drivers take the responsibility of driving safely seriously, too many others are reckless or negligent with their new privilege. Unfortunately, teen drivers contribute to serious car accidents, and it is not unusual for those accidents to have fatal results.

It was recently reported that an accident in San Diego claimed the lives of two individuals, including the driver considered at fault. According to reports, a 17-year-old driver was possibly racing another vehicle or simply speeding when that driver sideswiped one vehicle and collided head-on with another vehicle. Reports stated that two of the vehicles were carrying several students who had left a high school football game.

In terms of injuries, the report had the following information:

  • The 17-year-old driver of the first vehicle suffered fatal injuries.
  • The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle that was hit head-on also died as a result of the accident.
  • Seven other individuals suffered injuries in the crash, but specific details regarding those injuries were not provided.

It is devasting when a car accident has fatal results, and it can feel even more unbelievable when the victim was young. The family of the 21-year-old driver killed in this San Diego crash are undoubtedly feeling a great deal of grief and may be considering ways to find closure. Though the driver considered at fault in this incident also passed away, it may be possible for wrongful death and personal injury claims to come against his estate and any other liable parties relating to the accident from those looking for justice.
